These terms are from the FISH Archaeological Objects Thesaurus (Forum on Information Standards in Heritage - FISH).

KERB A stone edging on a footway dividing it from a carriageway. Preferred term 137916 -
KERB CAIRN A cairn featuring a mound of small diameter (normally less than 6m), which is surrounded by a kerb of stones which are considerably taller than the mound. Preferred term 78353 -
KERB CIRCLE A low, hemispherical cairn surrounded by a freestanding, continuous circle of boulders. Preferred term 94016 -
KERB PRINCIPAL A short principal rafter that that rises from a tiebeam to a collar. Preferred term 138878 -
KERB PRINCIPAL TRUSS A truss with two curved kerb-principals, which are the short principal rafters rising froma tiebeam to a collar, placed either side of a crown strut. Preferred term 137917 -
KERBED BOULDER A Prehistoric monument type in South West England in which a natural boulder is surrounded by a man-made kerb of stones. Preferred term 70101 -
KERBED MOUND A mound kerbed with wooden stakes or boulders. Preferred term 151940 -
KERBSTONE An edging of stone forming the kerb of a path. Preferred term 92404 -
KERBSTONES Stones used to edge a pavement or raised path. Preferred term 79053 -
KERCHIEF A piece of cloth worn over the head. Preferred term 96593 -
KETCH A vessel with two masts, rigged as a ketch, used for coastal trading. Preferred term - -
KETTLE A vessel with a lid, handle and spout used particularly for boiling water. Preferred term 96785 -
KEY A piece of wood of square or rectangular section driven through a scarf joint to tighten it Preferred term 137918 -

KEY (WINDING) A key for winding a clockwork mechanism. Preferred term 145062 -
