Republican moneyer, identified with the mint in Rome in 117 to 116 BC and probably the Q. Caecilius Metellus Nepos who was Consul in 98 BC. Alternatively, the moneyer may be Q. Caecilius Metellus Numidicus, Consul in 109 BC. His coins are marked Q·MET and issued jointly with M. Calidius (q.v.) and Cn. Fulvius (q.v.).
