These terms are from the FISH Archaeological Objects Thesaurus (Forum on Information Standards in Heritage - FISH).

RECREATION CENTRE A site available to the public for the pursuit of leisure and recreational activities. Preferred term 93886 -
RECREATION GROUND A public ground with facilities for games and other activities. Preferred term 69953 -
RECREATION HUT A hut, usually built as part of a complex on a military base or airfield and used for the recreation of military personnel. Preferred term 167318 -
RECREATION ROOM A room intended for the pursuit of recreational activities. Preferred term 138160 -
RECREATIONAL Sites, buildings, structures, features & areas of land associated with sport, leisure & entertainment. Includes sports grounds, hunting forests, cinemas, theatres etc. Preferred term 70551 -
RECREATIONAL HALL A hall built as part of a complex and used for the recreation of the workers or inhabitants. Usually associated with model estates, factories, flats etc. Preferred term 93105 -
RECRUITING STATION A building where civilians are enlisted to join the military forces. Preferred term 93106 -
RECTANGULAR ENCLOSURE A rectangular shaped area of land enclosed by a boundary ditch, bank, wall, palisade or similar barrier. Preferred term 70366 -
RECTANGULAR PLAN A plan in which a four-sided figure has all its angles at right angles and its opposite sides equal and parallel. Preferred term 138161 -
RECTILINEAR ENCLOSURE A monument consisting of an area of land enclosed by a ditch, bank, wall, palisade or similar barrier, where the barrier consists of several straight or near straight sections. Preferred term 70364 -

RECUMBENT STONE A stone or boulder which lies lengthways on the ground and may be used as a table, altar etc. Use only for isolated stones. Preferred term 70118 -
RECUMBENT STONE CIRCLE A stone circle featuring a stone which lies lengthways between two of the upright standing stones. Preferred term 70193 -
RECYCLING CENTRE A central point for the deposit, collection and recycling of waste materials. Preferred term 145058 -

REEL DRYING STOVE A structure or building used in the manufacture of the explosive cordite. After the cordite had been pressed to extract moisture it was placed on racks within the stove prior to being taken to the reeling house for winding. Preferred term 94173 -
