ROOD SCREEN A timber screen, often richly decorated, placed in front of a chancel to support a rood loft. Preferred term 138179 -
ROOD SCREEN A screen of wood or stone, used to divide the nave from the choir. Preferred term 97316 -

ROOF TOP CAR PARK A car park on the roof of a building. Preferred term 152613 -
ROOFING SHINGLES Thin, rectangular tiles, usually made of wood, used for roofing. Preferred term 90120 -
ROOFING SLATE Thin plates of slate, usually rectangular in shape, used as roofing tiles. Preferred term 79158 -
ROOM An enclosed compartment within a building intended for a purpose other than as a thoroughfare. Preferred term 138182 -
ROOM AND POWER MILL A type of textile mill found in Lancashire in the 19th century. Small businesses paid the owner rent for space for their machines, and power from the mill engine or waterwheel. Preferred term 164168 -
