These terms are from the FISH Archaeological Objects Thesaurus (Forum on Information Standards in Heritage - FISH).

ROYAL OBSERVER CORPS SITE A site or structure associated with the activities of the Royal Observer Corps. The Corps was reformed on 1 January 1947 and disbanded in 1991. Preferred term 100530 -
ROYAL ORDNANCE FACTORY A factory used for the manufacture of ordnance including small arms, ammunition, artillery pieces and armoured fighting vehicles. Preferred term 160504 -
ROYAL PALACE A large, luxuriously appointed building used as an official residence by a member of royalty. Preferred term 68950 -
ROYAL PARK Originally a large tract of wooded country, owned by the Monarchy, for the purpose of hunting. The royal parks of London, eg. Greenwich, are all open to the public and have been for centuries. Preferred term 86501 -

RUBBER The latex of plants tacky in its normal state and elastic after treatment. Used for a variety of purposes. Preferred term 79160 -

RUCK MACHINE GUN POST A machine gun post designed by James Ruck constructed from hollow blocks and prefabricated concrete sheeting with loopholes allowing for a garrison of eight. Preferred term 140532 -
RUFF A projecting starched frill worn around the neck, especially 16th century. Preferred term 96728 -
RUG A mat used on the floor as a covering. Preferred term 97203 -
RUGBY FOOTBALL GROUND A site including a pitch, stands and other ancillary buildings associated with the game of rugby. Preferred term 144557 -
