These terms are from the FISH Archaeological Objects Thesaurus (Forum on Information Standards in Heritage - FISH).

IGNITING ACCESSORY An object used in lighting a fire, lamp, oven, candle etc. Preferred term 97693 -
Imbecile Ward A historic term for a hospital ward for patients with mental illness and/or learning difficulties. Narrow term 92342 -
IMBREX A curved roofing tile. Preferred term 96084 -
IMMERSION BATH A structure, often sunk into the ground, for the purpose of allowing total bodily immersion in mineral sprinwater or similarly beneficial substances. Preferred term 141255 -
IMMERSION FONT A structure, usually sunk into the ground, for the purpose of allowing total bodily immersion as part of a baptismal ceremony. Preferred term 159191 -
IMMIGRATION CENTRE A building or complex used for the temporary detention of people with no legal right to be in the UK who have refused to leave voluntarily. Preferred term 159391 -
IMPACT CRATER A depression in the ground caused by the impact of a falling object, such as a crashed aircraft. Preferred term 141280 -
IMPERIAL STAIRCASE A grand staircase where the lower flight splits into two upper flights. Preferred term 137880 -
Implement Shed Narrow term 71488 -
IMPLIED FEATURE Terms covering features of a monument or building which imply the previous presence of a component or structure. Use for negative evidence of a component or structure. Preferred term 138952 -
IMPOST The band or block from which the springing of an arch occurs. Preferred term 138877 -
IMPOST MOULDING A decorative style on a block or band from which an arch springs. Preferred term 137881 -
