TANNERY A manufacturing complex where the hides of animals are turned into leather, consisting of buildings for fleecing and drying, as well as treatment pits. Preferred term 69401 -
TANNING PIT A pit or tank containing chemicals for the preserving of animal hide. Preferred term 69402 -
TAP A device to limit the amount of liquid coming from a pipe or hole. Preferred term 96314 -
TAP KEY A tap inserted into a barrel to allow liquid to be drawn from it. Preferred term 96521 -
TAPE MILL A mill used for the manufacture of narrow strips of woven fabric used in the closing or fixing of garments, or for binding the edges of fabric goods. Preferred term 87125 -
TAPE SIZING WORKS A building, usually part of a textile mill complex, where warp yarn is sized prior to weaving. Sizing is the application of a starch solution to warp threads to add strength and protection. Preferred term 135076 -
