BELFAST TRUSS A bowstring truss with the space between its members filled by a lattice of crossing diagonal rods. Preferred term 138846 -
BELFAST TRUSS AIRCRAFT HANGAR A type of aircraft hangar from the closing years of WWI either of steel or wood utilising a type of lattice work roof support known as a Belfast Truss, which features diagonally interlaced pieces of thin pine. The roof appears as a smooth curve. Preferred term 140265 -
BELFAST TRUSS ROOF A roof with a bow-shaped, segmental timber truss which has the space between its members filled by a lattice of crossing diagonal rods. Preferred term 137443 -
BELFRY The tower, generally attached to a church or other building but sometimes separate, where bells are hung and from which sound is emitted. Also applied to the upper chamber where bells are hung, or the wooden structure supporting them. Preferred term 137444 -

BELL BARROW A round barrow in which the mound and ditch are separated from each other by a berm. The ditch may be accompanied by an external (or occasionally internal) bank. Preferred term 70011 -

BELL CASTING PIT A pit, sometimes found close to a church or cathedral, where bells were cast in medieval times. Preferred term 69209 -
